T47 is a newer standard with the dimensions of a PF30 bottom bracket shell, but with threads substituting for a press fit. This bottom bracket allows you to install Shimano and other 24mm diameter thru-axle cranks into a T47 shell.

There are 2 versions: Standard and Coated Bearings. CeramicSpeed Bearings come installed in cups and are connected through the shell. Both have super round CeramicSpeed Balls and hardened-steel races. The CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings have an additional attribute: a 3-micron thick metallic layer over the races. This addition makes the races harder and smoother, lowering drag and increasing life.

Features

T45 is an open standard designed to provide the benefits of both oversized shells and the tight fit of threading. These cups and bearings adapt the shell so it is compatible with 24mm diameter spindle cranks.

Our CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings reduce drag by 75% when compared to stock bottom brackets. Down to 0.3-0.4 watts per set. This is the result of hardened-steel races combined with CeramicSpeed Balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. They also last longer.

The CeramicSpeed coated Bearings feature an even longer lifespan and even lower drag. Life increases by 60% and drag drops by 50% compared to our CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings.

Applied to the bearings at the factory is All Round Grease. It can be replaced for lower drag TT and Track Grease, or higher durability LongLife Grease, which adds a bit of drag but stays in when riding through messy conditions.

Whats in the box?

Coated bearings

CeramicSpeed's coating has several performance enhancing properties that makes it unique. Thanks to their continuous R&D program, CeramicSpeed have developed a special coating in cooperation with a European coating specialist. Applied to the steel races of the bearing, through an advanced process that ensures an even, smooth and homogeneous surface, the coating formula improves even further the high quality of the CeramicSpeed bearings.

Low friction Once coated, the bearing races deliver a hardness level matched only by the CeramicSpeed balls, providing an extremely low friction coefficient between the two materials. The result is thus even less friction in their coated bearings than in their standard bearings.

Coating Graf Friction - The coating is a metallic layer, which is 75% harder than the hardened steel races. The coating is applied in a very thin and even layer of 3 microns (0,003 mm) on the entire surface of the bearing race. Both the inside and the outside are treated to achieve optimal results. As CeramicSpeed use a metallic coating on top of the hardened steel, it can be difficult to see that a bearing is actually coated. However, if you take a closer look at a coated bearing, you will notice that the surface has a different shine than a standard CeramicSpeed bearing.

Lifetime - The coating has several properties that improve the lifetime of CeramicSpeed's bearings. The increased hardness of the races combined with the super smooth and round CeramicSpeed balls, means virtually no wear on the bearing.

The coating layer is applied completely closed and homogenous. The formula used for the coating is extremely resistant to corrosion. This means that even if the bearing is contaminated with degreaser, water or mud, the risk of bearing failure due to corrosion is negligible.

How to achieve the optimal performance - The coated bearings are more resistant to lack of lubrication when it comes to wear and damage on the bearing nonetheless, this does not mean that the need for maintenance is completely eliminated. Just as CeramicSpeed do with their standard bearings, they recommend to always lubricate them with their special grease to achieve optimal performance in terms of low friction and long lifetime. For all training and racing applications they recommend the use of CeramicSpeed Blue all-round grease. If you want to achieve the lowest possible friction, CeramicSpeed recommend you to use their TT grease. Please be aware that compared to the standard Blue all-round grease, the TT grease has a shortened lifetime and therefore, it requires more frequent application.

Handmade in Denmark Like all other CeramicSpeed bearings, their coated products are handmade in Denmark. This means all bearings are built by hand and inspected manually at each step in the production process. Building a coated bearing adds a number of extra steps to the process. The CeramicSpeed balls and steel races are matched within microns after which, each set of races is coated. The races are kept together in pairs through the entire process and after coating, each set needs to pass the quality control before they go into production.

CeramicSpeed coated bearings are available for pulley wheels, bottom brackets, wheel bearings and the Oversized Pulley Wheel System
