The Shimano Ultegra R8000 Carbon pedals are the highly anticipated, and much improved version of Shimano’s veteran Ultegra 6800 pedal.
When Shimano designed these new pedals, they wanted to provide a super light, comfortable pedal that improved upon their class-leading power transfer. In order to exceed expectations, they’ve carried out the following improvements:
- Decreased Stack Height: Pedal stack height reduced by 0.7mm, which has resulted in a significant increase in pedalling efficiency. It may seem like a small difference, but it makes a huge difference!
- Widened Body: Shimano have widened the body of the Ultegra R8000 Carbon pedals resulting in increased stability and comfort for those longer rides.
- Also available with a 4mm longer axle.
They’ve managed to incorporate these improvements while keeping the Ultegra R8000 Carbon Pedals as light as possible - 248g! As always, rider’s have the ability to choose from a wide range of SPD-SL cleats to suit their riding style.
